Fraud is on the Rise

We want to make you aware of a recent increase in fraud attempts to banking customers everywhere. These scams are sophisticated and convincing, and we urge you to be on alert.

What’s Happening

Fraudsters are pretending to be Midwest Heritage employees. Most scams begin with a text message claiming to verify a fake debit card transaction. If you respond, the fraudster will follow up with a phone call, pretending to help resolve the issue.

They may request sensitive information to “verify your identity” or “stop the fraudulent activity.” This can include:

  • Your debit card CVV number (security code on the back)

  • Your PIN

  • Your online banking username and password

These scammers often spoof our phone number so the call looks like it’s coming from Midwest Heritage. They are very convincing, using employee names and creating a sense of urgency.

What You Need to Know

Midwest Heritage will never:

  • Ask for your PIN, CVV, or online banking credentials by phone, text, or email

  • Ask you to click on links to verify your account or reset your password unless you initiate the request

If you receive a suspicious call, text, or email claiming to be from us, do not respond. Instead, call us directly at 800-782-0521 or contact your personal banker.

Stay Safe

  • Never share your personal or financial information unless you initiated the contact.

  • Don’t click links in unexpected texts or emails.

  • Be cautious, even if the caller ID says “Midwest Heritage.”

Stay Informed

Follow Midwest Heritage on social media for ongoing security updates, tips to protect your information, and important alerts. Staying connected is one of the best ways to stay ahead of fraud.
